On November 26th Carl will go on tour with his band Carl Orrje’s Cup of Tea with Rigmor Gustafsson. The group features guitarist Satoshi Inoue who lives in New York, trumpeter Tomonao Hara from Tokyo and Swedish singer Rigmor Gustafsson. The rhythm section is Carl Orrje Trio. Hopefully this band will be on tour in Japan next year.

In August Carl left his position in Gotland. He now lives in Stockholm and has a new trio with bassist Patrik Boman and drummer Ali Djeridi.

Dreaming of Paris – I had a dream I was back in Paris-or was it real?

Like the Wind is a confession of my love for Brazilian music.

Frozen Lake is memories of going ice-skating.

For Wenjuan is a dedication to my beloved girlfriend.

The Great Garden, Solitude, Animal Hymn, O You My Heart’s Expanse, The Waterfall and The Hyacinth are poems by Edith Södergran, the Finland-Swedish poet. I have scored them for clarinet and piano or alto flute and piano.

The Star is yet another poem by Södergran. It reminded me of when I was little and watched my favorite cartoon, Professor Balthazar. There was an episode about a man who loved music. Unfortunately his neighbors didn’t share his passion. Professor Balthazar helped him travel to a star where he could play music all day. The poem is scored for woodwind quintet, piano, bass and triangle.

Morning in the Forest and Lonely Flower are part of a suite, commissioned by Gotlandsmusiken,
I wrote most of this music during the fall of 2005 and the winter of 2006.

Carl has been invited for a tour of 14 concerts in Japan. From June 11 to 26, 2007 he will play throughout Japan with Satoshi Inoue Quartet. Satoshi Inoue is a guitar player living and working in New York (www.satoshiinoue.com).

In the beginning of May, Carl is performing his music for woodwind quintet, piano, bass and drums/percussion at the classical music festival Pro Baltic. There will be concerts in Torun, Grudziaz and Warsaw.
